By the time the house is on display in October 2009, Virginia Tech will have been working on the design and building of the 2009 house for almost two years! Follow the progress below.

- Plumbing and wiring chases placed
- Floor heat sensors installed
- Radiant floor system installed
- Agreement with National Building Museum, Virginia Tech Solar House to be part of a sustainability exhibition, to be located on the lawn in front of the institution during the month of September
