By the time the house is on display in October 2009, Virginia Tech will have been working on the design and building of the 2009 house for almost two years! Follow the progress below.
JANUARY 2009
- Solar panels arrive - Sanyo Double Hit, 45 panels, 9 kilowatt array
- Testing to determine panel efficiency under different conditions
- Meetings and conference calls with suppliers and installers begin to ramp up
- Solar house featured in Inform Magazine
- MODEA agrees to produce web page
- Spine 3D to create graphic animation of house
